Gertrude was born on February 4th, 1884 in Fladbury, Worcestershire.1  Gertrude's father was William Izod and her mother was Eliza Bunn.  Her paternal grandparents were Edmund Izod and Harriet Vale. She had four brothers and four sisters, named Albert , William, George, Charles, Emily, Mary, Lucinda and Bertha.  Charles and Gertrude were twins. She died at the age of 16 on June 16th, 1900.  The funeral took place on June 19th, 1900 in Fladbury Churchyard.
