Charles was born on February 4th, 1884 in Fladbury, Worcestershire.1  Charles' father was William Izod and his mother was Eliza Bunn.  His paternal grandparents were Edmund Izod and Harriet Vale. He had three brothers and five sisters, named Albert , William, George, Emily, Mary, Lucinda, Bertha and Gertrude.  Charles and Gertrude were twins.
