Henry was born in 1828 in Clackmannan.1   Henry's father was James Allan and his mother was Elizabeth Hynd. He had three brothers and three sisters, named David, Robert, James, Isobel, Jean and Mary.  He died due to a respiratory problem and/or pneumonia, Chronic Bronchitis, Cerebral Haemorhage, at the age of 76 on January 9th, 1904 in Coalsnaughton.2
