From Archibald's Will dated 1834
The amount of funds belonging to the deceased in the hands of Thomas and Robert Mouat, merchants Falkirk £200
The amount of the value of the household furniture by appraisement of C Birch Auctioneers in Stirling £34 0s 9d
After my death and for the love, favor and affection which I have and bear to my wife and children to and in favour of Jean Grey my spouse in liferent for her liferent use and to Thomas Mouat and Robert Mouat Merchants in Falkirk my land equally among them share and share alike. Together with the writs, title deeds, securities and other evidents.
The said Jean Grey my spouse shall be at liberty in case the annual rent of any said means and estate conveyed to her should be inadequate for her comfortable maintenance and support to break upon the principal from time to time as she may find necessary. At the death of Jean Grey the whole of my means and estate be divided equally between Thomas Mouat and Robert Mouat share and share alike. My other children John, Alexander and George having already received their share.
