Robert was born on April 10th, 1850 in Kilmany, Fife.1   Robert's father was John Ferguson and his mother was Margaret Baillie.  His paternal grandparents were Robert Ferguson and Elizabeth Hall; his maternal grandparents were David Bailie and Jane Menzies. He had three brothers and a sister, named David, John, William Blair and Jane.  He was the oldest of the five children.  He died due to a respiratory problem and/or pneumonia, Tuberculosis. About 4 months., at the age of 8 on March 10th, 1859 in East Port, Newburgh, Fife, Scotland.  He was buried in Newburgh Cemetary.2 2
