Margaret was born on April 30th, 1843 in Parish of Alva and her baptism was conducted by Reverend Andrew Brown Minister of the Parish.1   Margaret's father was William Drysdale and her mother was Janet Archibald.  Her paternal grandparents were David Drysdale and Jean Dempster. She had a brother and four sisters, named William, Jane Dempster, Janet , Euphemia and Mary.  She was the youngest of the six children.  She died at the age of 57 in 1900.
