Janet  was born on May 23rd, 1835 in Parish of Alva and her baptism was conducted by Reverend Mr Robertson Minister of Logie.1  Janet 's father was William Drysdale and her mother was Janet Archibald.  Her paternal grandparents were David Drysdale and Jean Dempster. She had a brother and four sisters, named William, Jane Dempster, Euphemia, Mary and Margaret.  She was the third oldest of the six children.  She died due to a respiratory problem and/or pneumonia, Acute Bronchitis, Aortic Incompetency, at the age of 77 on February 3rd, 1913 in 2 School Wynd, Alva.2
