Robert was born on July 16th, 1906 in Tillicoultry.1   Robert's father was Henry Allan and his mother was Isabella Hunter.  His paternal grandparents were Henry Allan and Devina Cook; his maternal grandparents were Joseph Hunter and Mary Gray. He had three brothers and six sisters, named Henry, Joseph, Jim, Mary, <Unknown>, Ina, Isabella , Jeannie and Elspeth.  He was the second youngest of the ten children.  He died at the age of 75 in December 1981 in 44 Beechwood, Sauchie, Clackmannanshire, Scotland.2
