Henry was born in 1866 in Falkirk.1  Henry's father was Henry Allan and his mother was Devina Cook.  His paternal grandparents were James Allan and Elizabeth Hynd; his maternal grandparents were Robert Cook and Isabella Fyfe. He had two brothers and two sisters, named James, Robert, Isabella  and Elspeth.  He was the youngest of the five children.  He died at the age of 62 on December 5th, 1928.1
